How to Relax in the Siwa Villa

The idea of coming to Siwa Oasis and staying in the Siwa Villa is to enjoy the natural surroundings, the natural sounds, the locals, the perfect weather and the quietness so you can have a complete break from you usual routine.

Siwa is very laid back and around the Shali there is little to break the silence except for the odd child playing or a donkey making himself heard. We have purposely made the villa a PC, Play station, TV, radio free zone so everyone can enjoy the natural surroundings. There is a little Hi Fi you can plug your ipod into… we didn't’t go that far. And you can plug a laptop into a dial up connection we provide for you if you must check your emails.

If you are thinking, " How am I going to cope with the children not having a TV and what about the lads missing the big match" then don't worry. One or two of the tea houses in town have a TV and we watched all the world cup games last time around… until it became boring when yet again England went out in the quarter finals.

We have had many children stay here now and once they know there is no TV no matter how many times they ask, they suddenly realise there are a 100 other things to do instead. Most children who have stayed with us for a week have relished in being able to get up and just go outside and play or go exploring with Jack the donkey and Mohammad.

The locals are cool with foreigners. we're all from mars and they don't understand our ways... but they find us just as interesting people to watch as we do them.

My favorite place to get away from it all. There is always someone on the terrace sunbathing or just hanging out but this little hideaway at the back of the house often goes unnoticed and is great for reading or playing board games that you want to leave out until tomorrow.

		If you go through the wooden door on the left there is a large steam room, a changing room and a shower room with two showers. It is completely private allowing you to strip off and have a relaxing steam sauna and shower. It took a lot of figuring out, but works!

Sun rise Make yourself a coffee and sneak out on to the terrace to watch the sun rise over the mud houses whilst reading that novel you have wanted to tuck into for some time. Even on the busiest winter holiday weekend, you will be the only person you can see for miles. Go up the Shali which is a five minute walk and you will see one of the best sunrises ever.

Sun set When on the terrace you can watch the sun set and the colour of the Shali fort go from a bright yellow to a dark red to then a bright white when the lights kick in and it all gets lit up. Take a 5 minute walk up the Shali it's self and see the sun set over the oasis for miles and miles around.
